Our Story

Prior to starting Grant Gray, PC, Nick practiced in the estate planning field for twenty years, while Megan was an estate planning associate for three years. Nick and Megan developed a strong working relationship, and their partnership today is based on trust and a deep respect for each other’s individual talents.

Looking to build upon their large firm experience, Nick and Megan decided to start their own firm centered around their core values of integrity, empathy, and clarity. Creating a strategic, straightforward plan to implement clients’ goals to plan for their future is a cornerstone of Grant Gray, PC.

Grant Gray’s dedication to a personally tailored client-focused system, collaboration with trusted financial advisors, and streamlined practice are all geared to give the advantage to their clients at every turn. “We know that estate planning can seem a daunting task for many people. It is our job to listen to your goals, anticipate your needs, and create a comprehensive plan to achieve those accordingly. We strive to help lessen the stress that clients sometimes carry with them into this process so that they can have confidence that their objectives will be carried out,” Nick asserts.

Nicholas S. Gray

Nick has been in legal practice since 1999, following an extensive career in software development, programming, and systems analysis. While the two careers may seem to be polar opposites, Nick maintains that the logic and linear thinking that one must apply to software development and analysis is identical to the process of meeting with clients and then creating terms of a trust or will that meet their individual needs. “Different language, different tools perhaps, but the same kind of thinking,” he maintains.

The 10th generation in a family of lawyers, Nick initially seemed headed towards a career in music. Today, music is a passion that occupies his free time instead, as an active member in the Choir of Men & Boys at The Parish of All Saints in the Ashmont neighborhood of Dorchester, Massachusetts.

As an attorney, Nick takes special pleasure in being directly helpful to people. “I enjoy drafting wills and trusts; the challenge is to understand each client’s family dynamics and special needs so we can work together to create tools that address their unique situation. There’s even great satisfaction in helping settle estates because I know that I’m helping my clients deal with both the financial and emotional repercussions of a death.” Nick’s practice encompasses:

  • Estate, income and gift-tax planning for individuals and families

  • Acting as a professional trustee of trust funds

  • Serving as personal representative of estates

  • Advising on matters including estates, guardianships, and conservatorships

  • Assisting clients and their families in obtaining needed medical and psychiatric intervention services for loved ones

Nick and his wife Elisabeth make their home in Milton with their two sons and their dog, Abbie. When not working or singing, Nick avidly pursues his interests in history, theology, cycling and hiking.
